Shipping Method Mapping allows you to align the shipping methods used in your eCommerce platforms (such as Shopify or BigCommerce) with the shipping methods expected by your fulfillment services (such as Amazon MCF or ShipStation).
This feature ensures that orders flow smoothly from sales channels into fulfillment systems, even when the naming conventions or options differ between platforms.
Shipping Method Mapping is optional, but it is highly recommended if your sales and fulfillment methods do not match exactly.

Why Use Shipping Method Mapping?
Consistency: Ensure shipping methods from orders are properly recognized by your fulfillment provider.
Flexibility: Display customer-friendly shipping options in your store while using the correct codes expected by fulfillment.
Accuracy: Reduce errors when passing orders to fulfillment.
Efficiency: Automatically map new methods as they appear, avoiding manual intervention for every order.
Before mapping shipping methods, you need to check the methods for orders and fulfillments that are inherited from the integrations or can be added manually.
Order Methods
The Order Methods page represents the shipping methods used in your eCommerce sales channels where orders originate. In the app, go to Shipping Methods → Order Methods.
This page starts blank and requires you to manually add shipping methods.
Create entries for every possible shipping method that might come from your store.
Use Create Order Method to add methods. Either the shipping code or the shipping carrier and shipping service is needed; the description is optional and for your reference only.
Order Methods must have unique names and shipping codes. Duplicate entries are not allowed.
Exception: If the shipping method from your order already matches a fulfillment service method exactly, you do not need to create a separate Order Method.
Recommendation: Complete your Fulfillment Methods setup before creating Order Methods.
Adding Order Method
You can manually add an order method for your eCommerce integrations.
Go to Shipping Methods → Order Methods.
Select Create Order Method.
-
In the Create Order Method form:
The Source Type will default to Ecommerce.
-
Choose between:
Shipping Code: Enter the order method shipping code.
Shipping Carrier and Service: Select a carrier and specify the service.
Optionally, add a Description for internal reference.
Click Create to save the new order method.
You do not always need to create Order Methods manually. If a new shipping method comes in with an order, the app will automatically create an entry for it. You can then decide whether to map it to a fulfillment method.
Importing Order Methods
To save time, you can bulk add order methods.
In the Order Methods page, select Import.
Download the CSV template.
Enter all order methods you expect from your sales channels. Each method must have a unique name and code.
Upload the file back into the app.
Reminder: If the order method name already matches a fulfillment service, you don’t need to create it separately.
Fulfillment Methods
The Fulfillment Methods page shows all shipping/logistics methods available in your fulfillment service integrations. In the app, go to Shipping Methods → Fulfillment Methods.
These methods are typically pulled in automatically during integration setup.
You can configure mappings for each fulfillment provider individually.
New fulfillment methods can be added by clicking New Shipping Method in the top-right corner of the page.
Tip: Always confirm that your fulfillment methods match those expected by your fulfillment provider before proceeding.
Adding Fulfillment Method
You can manually add a fulfillment method if it is missing from your integration.
Go to Shipping Methods → Fulfillment Methods.
Select New Shipping Method.
-
In the Create Fulfillment Method form:
Choose the Source Type (e.g., Logistics).
Select the Integration to associate with the fulfillment method.
-
Choose between:
Shipping Code: Enter a custom shipping code.
Shipping Carrier and Service: Select a carrier and specify the service.
Optionally, add a Description for internal reference.
Click Create to save the new fulfillment method.
Importing Fulfillment Methods
You can bulk upload fulfillment methods instead of adding them one by one.
In the Fulfillment Methods page, select Import.
Download the provided CSV template.
Fill in the template with your fulfillment methods (ensure shipping codes, carriers, and services match your provider’s requirements).
Upload the completed CSV file back into the app.
Tip: Always double-check your file for formatting errors before uploading to avoid rejected rows.
Shipping Mapping
The Shipping Mapping page links your Order Methods to Fulfillment Methods. This ensures that when an order is ingested into the app, it is automatically assigned the correct fulfillment shipping method.
In the app, go to Shipping Methods → Shipping Mapping.
Each integration displays as an expandable card (for example, Shopify, Amazon MCF, ShipStation).
-
Inside each card, you will see:
-
Default setting: Determines the fulfillment method used when an incoming order does not match any existing mapping.
Passthrough: Sends the order method exactly as received, without remapping.
Select fulfillment method: Assigns a specific fulfillment method as the default.
Mapping table: Lets you pair each Order Method (left side) with a Fulfillment Method (right side).
-
If an order shipping method is missing, add it under Order Methods. If a fulfillment method is missing, add it directly under the dropdown or check the Fulfillment Methods page and add it if necessary.
Importing Shipping Mappings
You can bulk upload shipping mappings to streamline setup.
In the Shipping Mapping page, select Import.
Download the CSV template.
Fill in the template by pairing each Order Method with its matching Fulfillment Method.
Upload the completed file.
Note: Ensure both order and fulfillment methods exist in their respective tables before importing mappings.
Exporting Shipping Mappings
You can export your current mappings for review or recordkeeping.
In the Shipping Mapping page, select Export.
A CSV file containing all existing mappings downloads instantly.
This file can be useful for auditing your setup, sharing with your fulfillment team, or making bulk edits before re-importing.
Handling New Shipping Methods
When a new shipping method is added in your sales channel or marketplace:
The app automatically adds it to the Order Methods page.
The related order will show an exception: “New Shipping Method Reported.”
The order is sent to your fulfillment provider using the default fulfillment method until you map the new method.
Action required: Map the new method in Shipping Mapping to ensure future orders flow correctly.
Troubleshooting
Order not routed correctly: Confirm the Order Method is created and mapped to the correct Fulfillment Method.
Missing method: Check the corresponding Order Methods or Fulfillment Methods page and add the method.
Duplicate errors: Ensure that Order Methods have unique names and codes.
