Connect Amazon Shipping to Pipe17

The Amazon Shipping connector enables Pipe17 to generate shipping labels directly through Amazon's Shipping API. It is a logistics connector focused solely on label generation - it is distinct from the Amazon MCF connector, which handles inventory, products, and multi-channel fulfillment.

Use this connector to:

  • Pull shipping label requests from Pipe17 and submit them to Amazon Shipping for rate shopping and label generation
  • Automatically cancel shipments in Amazon Shipping when corresponding Pipe17 shipments are canceled

Setup

Prerequisites

Before connecting, make sure you have:

  • An active Amazon Seller Central account with access to Amazon Shipping.
  • If you have access to multiple Seller Central accounts, make sure you are logged into the correct one before connecting.

Steps

  1. In Pipe17, navigate to Integrations → Add Integration and select Amazon Shipping.
  2. Select your Business ID (region) from the dropdown. The default is AmazonShipping US.
  3. Click Connect. You will be redirected to Amazon Seller Central.
  1. Log in and click Confirm to authorize Pipe17 to access your account.
  2. After authorization, you will be redirected back to Pipe17. The OAuth token is stored automatically, you do not need to enter it manually.
  3. Configure your integration settings and enable the Pull shipping labels from Amazon Shipping toggle.

If the connector shows as disconnected, reconnect the integration to re-authorize. Access tokens are refreshed automatically using the stored refresh token. If the refresh token itself is invalid, a full re-authorization is required.

Connecting Pipe17 to an Amazon UK Account

The Amazon authentication process is different for connections to marketplaces outside of the Americas. And it is mandatory that you install a separate copy of the MCF integration for each marketplace outside of the Americas.

Here are the recommended steps.

  1. Log out of Amazon Seller Central and Pipe17.
  2. Start an incognito window or other private session in a supported browser and log in to Pipe17.
  3. Add a new MCF integration and log in to Amazon Seller Central in a new incognito tab.
  4. Authorize the connection.
  5. Set up the MCF integration to pull locations and pull inventory; leave push shipping requests off.
  6. Wait for 5 minutes and verify you have inventory.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the other marketplaces outside of the Americas.
  8. This process may result in extra locations that make the user experience difficult to navigate. Look at your inventory page and see which locations have inventory. Update the locations to "Inactive" status if they do not have inventory and you do not expect to receive inbound inventory at that location (marketplace). This may be easier if you use two tabs in your browser, one for "All Inventory" and one for locations.

Flows

The connector polls Pipe17 every 5 minutes and is also event-driven.

Shipping Labels Out

Pipe17 polls for shipments in Pending Shipping Label status and submits them to Amazon Shipping to obtain labels.

How it works:

  1. The connector queries Pipe17 for shipments matching the configured filters.
  2. Each matching shipment is submitted to Amazon Shipping.
  3. Amazon Shipping performs rate shopping and returns a label.
  4. The label is stored back in Pipe17.

Filters are applied in this order:

  1. Pull shipping labels toggle must be enabled
  2. Specific order IDs - if set, only matching order IDs are processed
  3. Specific shipment IDs - if set, only matching shipment IDs are processed
  4. Required tags - if set, only shipments with at least one matching tag are processed
  5. Order source - if set, only shipments from matching sales channels are processed

Shipment Cancellations Out

When a Pipe17 shipment is canceled, the connector submits a corresponding cancellation to Amazon Shipping.

Troubleshooting

Connector shows as disconnected or authorization error

Your OAuth token may have expired or been revoked.

Fix: Reconnect the integration in Pipe17 to re-authorize via Amazon Seller Central. If the refresh token itself is invalid, a full re-authorization is required.

Shipments are not being processed

  1. Confirm the Pull shipping labels from Amazon Shipping toggle is enabled - when off, the connector processes nothing.
  2. Confirm the shipment is in Pending Shipping Label status. Shipments in other statuses are not picked up.
  3. Check whether specific order IDsspecific shipment IDsrequired tags, or order source filters are set and inadvertently excluding shipments.

Label purchase is failing

Behavior when a label purchase fails is controlled by the If label purchase fails setting:

  • Exception (default): An exception is created in Pipe17; the shipment status is unchanged.
  • Review Required: The shipment status is changed to Review Required.
  • Ready for Fulfillment: The shipment status is changed to Ready for Fulfillment.

Review the Activity log for the specific error returned by Amazon Shipping.

Wrong marketplace or region

  • Confirm the Business ID matches the Amazon Shipping region where your account is registered. The default is AmazonShipping US.
  • Verify the Marketplaces Filter contains the correct Amazon Marketplace ID for your region. The default value ATVPDKIKX0DER corresponds to Amazon US.
